We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Business Integration to work hybrid in the Norwood and Waltham, MA offices to serve as a leader for an announced merger between two global life science instruments companies.
A Day in the Life:
The Senior Director, Business Integration will oversee the seamless integration of an announced merger between two global life science instruments companies. This role demands strong, hands-on leadership, business acumen, adaptability, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and deep technical expertise in program management. The Senior Director, Business Integration will ensure smooth alignment of systems, processes, and teams, driving operational efficiency while supporting strategic goals and value creation initiatives.
Your Focus will be:
- Governance and Oversight: Create a governance process and tools to facilitate oversight integration workstreams across the business. Lead overall governance and oversight of all integration workstreams. Implement and govern status reporting for all integration milestones, providing visibility to the status and business performance.
- Develop and Execute Integration Plans: Collaborate with senior leadership on the definition of the desired end state to drive value creation in the combined business. Create a comprehensive cross-functional integration plan to provide visibility to the program milestones and enable the end state. Organize workstreams aligned with the defined strategies Plan and oversee the integration process, monitoring progress, addressing issues, and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Stakeholder Management: Create and execute ongoing communication plans to ensure stakeholders are informed about project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, effectively managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify and resolve program risks and issues, including developing mitigations and contingency plans.
- Change Management: Work alongside Human Resources to coordinate the implementation of new operational workflows and ensure successful adoption.
- Operational Efficiency: Champion the creation of integration metrics and utilize data intelligence to report on progress. Promote improved methods to get the work done and implement best practices.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates of progress against deal metrics to both management and the Board of Directors.
- Leadership of Project Managers: Lead with and without authority project management of the comprehensive integration plan and various integration team members.
What we are looking for in you:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualifications preferred
- 15 years of diverse business leadership experience, with a focus on business/operational integration
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong relationship-building abilities, and a keen eye for detail and operational efficiency
- Demonstrated success in operations and/or commercial areas of the business
- Experience working in globally diverse organizations
- Experience in managing integration timelines, budgets, resources, and risks effectively
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment towards a shared vision or goal
