What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Chemist position at Advanced Instruments?
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Laboratory Chemist to work in the field and in our Westbrook, Maine office to ensure product quality by performing test and calibrations at various stages of product manufacturing according to established procedures and ISO17025 requirements. This role will work closely with customer laboratories using both automated and manual liquid handling instrumentation to deliver the Accredited Calibration Service (ACS).
A Day in the Life:
As a Laboratory Chemist, you will manufacture liquid test kit consumables in response to varying production needs in accordance with GMP and other applicable compliance standards, regulations and guidance documents. In this position you will apply rigorous attention to detail, meet schedules for output, utilize the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, test, analyze, report and document results as needed. You will have the opportunity to train and qualify new employees to ensure competence to perform work that complies with ISO17025 requirements. As a Laboratory Chemist, you will identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot and correct issues.
What we are looking for in you:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering, or Chemistry
- Extensive knowledge of ISO 17025, cGMP, and ISO 9001
- 3-5 years of laboratory experience
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete work to achieve defined turnaround times and expectations
- Action to provide customized liquid handler performance verification services using the Artel MVS technology
- Be able to assist customers with troubleshooting and optimizing their liquid handling instrumentation and assays
- Desire and need to maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Ability to promote use of Artel products and services to assist customers in optimizing lab productivity and maintaining compliance
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
