Job Description:
We are seeking a Residential Low Voltage Rough-In/Pre-Wire Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for running and terminating low-voltage cabling during the pre-wire phase of residential construction projects. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Install and route low-voltage cabling ( CAT6, coaxial, fiber optic, speaker wire, security wiring, etc.) in residential properties.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job site plans.
- Perform rough-in/pre-wire installations for home security, AV, networking, and automation systems.
- Secure and label all wiring properly for final trim-out and termination.
- Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other contractors to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve wiring issues as they arise.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company and industry safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with structured wiring, home security systems, AV, and networking preferred.
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
- Basic understanding of electrical and low-voltage systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check if required.
