What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Pipefitter position at Advanced Integrated Technologies?
AIT, LLC is seeking talented and highly motivated Marine Pipefitters. As a Marine Pipefitter, you will be integral to the installation and repair of piping systems onboard marine vessels. Must be able to layout, fabricate, assemble, install, repair, and modify piping systems. Applicant must possess the ability to perform threading, soldering, gluing, welding and/or brazing of pipes and fittings.
DUTIES:
- Follows blueprints and uses hand tools and shop machines.
- Cuts and bores holes in bulkheads and decks for installation of pipes.
- Cuts and threads pipe and pipefittings.
- Connects pipes to fixtures and test systems for leaks, ensuring that the system meets specifications.
- Works with a tacker/helper to perform precision work and solve problems.
- Perceive pertinent detail in objects or blueprints.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years working experience, shipyard/ship repair required.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Current DBIDs preferred, ability to obtain a DBIDS required.
- Knowledge of blueprints and drawings.
- Previous braze quals preferred
