PCA Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, particularly in inpatient and outpatient settings, including clinics and trauma centers. This role is critical in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and assistance during their recovery process.

Duties

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive environment.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
• Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas.
• Support nursing staff in medical-surgical settings by preparing equipment and assisting during procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in patient education initiatives, particularly in teaching hospitals, to promote health awareness.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU) is advantageous.
• Experience working within inpatient settings or outpatient clinics will be beneficial.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of care.

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
