A well-established and growing machining operation in Paramount, CA is looking for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to lead their 2nd shift team. Position Overview:
The Machine Shop Supervisor will oversee 2nd shift shop operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations are met. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge of machining processes, the ability to troubleshoot issues, and the skills to effectively manage and mentor a team, while working on CNC lathe machines.
Schedule & Overtime:
- 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday , 4x10 schedule
- Overtime: Available on Fridays

Responsibilities
- Edit programs and set up CNC lathe machines
- Supervise and coordinate all aspects of the 2nd shift machine shop operations (~4 machinists)
- Lead and mentor machinists and CNC operators
- Ensure efficient machine setup, operation, and maintenance to maximize productivity
- Monitor production progress, inspect finished products, and enforce quality control standards
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes for efficiency
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations
Qualifications
- 5 years in a machine shop environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining including blueprint reading, editing programs, machine set up
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop a team
- Hands-on approach to troubleshooting machining and production challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
