CNC Programmer and Machinist – Take Ownership and Lead Department Growth

With commitment to delivering high-quality products, custom engineering solutions, and exceptional service, the company has invested in brand-new Doosan CNC multi-spindle lathe with live tooling over the past few years to increase in-house production. This is a low-volume, high-precision environment focused on producing large steel components.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Programmer and Machinist to take ownership of new Doosan machines and lead the growth of the machining department while taking parts cradle to grave. In this role, you will be responsible for the programming set up, and operation of machines — driving the production of critical parts from start to finish. You will work closely with the engineering team to enhance in-house production capabilities and help shape the future of the department, including potential investments in additional equipment.

Position Details:
1st Shift: from 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM with overtime required

Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate Doosan CNC Lathe
- Program using a CAD/CAM system (GibbsCAM)
- Work closely with engineering team to develop programs for production and enhance efficiencies
- Evaluate and determine range of in house production capabilities
- Perform first article, in process, and final inspections
- Design and determine proper tooling and fixtures
- Assist in development of shop processes and growth
- Train and oversee other machinists as the shop grows
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience setting up, operating, and editing programs for CNC mills and lathes
- Previous experience programming on GibbsCAM
- Ability to read and interpret customer and engineer drawings and prints
- Knowledge of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators
- Previous experience operating overhead cranes preferable
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required with the ability to communicate across various levels of the organization
- Experience working with Doosan lathes a big plus! (However, ample training opportunities will be provided)
