Job Description: Strategic Account Executive (CNC Capital Equipment)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Strategic Account Executive (SAE) to manage and grow key accounts in the aerospace, marine, automotive, and advanced materials sectors. This individual will be responsible for both penetrating new target prospects and strengthening relationships with existing major customers who use capital equipment such as CNC machining centers, routers, and 5-axis machining solutions. The SAE will work alongside our distribution network and Regional Sales Managers to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies and provide a high level of service to our strategic clients. While aerospace will be a primary focus, this role will span across multiple industries, requiring versatility and a deep understanding of various advanced manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Management & Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with senior-level decision-makers within key accounts across aerospace, automotive, marine, and advanced materials industries.
- Act as the main point of contact for major accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
- Establish a deep understanding of customers' business objectives, needs, and challenges, positioning the company’s capital equipment solutions as key enablers of their success.
2. New Business Development:
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the aerospace sector (primary focus) and additional industries, including marine, automotive, and advanced materials.
- Proactively develop and implement tailored strategies for engaging new prospects, increasing market penetration, and driving revenue growth.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers and the distribution network to develop joint sales plans for penetrating new customers.
3. Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Work alongside the Regional Sales Managers and distributors to align sales strategies with overall business objectives and regional market dynamics.
- Develop detailed account plans for key accounts, identifying both short-term opportunities and long-term growth strategies.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to negotiation and deal closure, ensuring a seamless experience for the customer.
4. Product & Market Expertise:
- Leverage technical knowledge of CNC machining equipment, 5-axis systems, and related technologies to provide expert guidance to customers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and market dynamics, especially within the aerospace, automotive, marine, and advanced materials sectors.
- Act as a subject matter expert in advanced manufacturing processes, such as CNC routers, carbon fibers, plastics, and thermoforming, with a particular focus on aerospace applications.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including Marketing, Engineering, and Product Development, to ensure the company’s solutions meet customer requirements and align with industry standards.
- Collaborate with distributors and the Regional Sales Managers to ensure alignment of sales strategies, share insights, and maximize cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide feedback on customer needs and competitive intelligence to help shape the company’s product offerings and marketing efforts.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in managing strategic accounts, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, marine, or advanced materials sectors.
- Proven track record of selling capital equipment, particularly in CNC machining, 5-axis systems, or related manufacturing technologies.
- Experience working with large accounts and building strong relationships with senior executives and decision-makers.
- Strong technical understanding of CNC machining, routers, automation, and advanced materials processes.
- Experience within the aerospace sector is highly desirable, with a solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, leveraging support from Regional Sales Managers, distributors, and internal teams.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tools.
- Willingness to travel frequently to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support business development efforts.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Revenue growth and sales target achievement within key strategic accounts.
- New account acquisition, particularly within the aerospace sector and other target industries.
- Customer satisfaction and retention rates for major accounts.
- Account penetration and expansion, including the identification of new opportunities within existing accounts.
- Collaboration with Regional Sales Managers and distributors to meet sales goals and increase market share.
