Position Overview: As a Full-Time Medical Assistant, you will work closely with our healthcare providers to assist in the care and treatment of patients who have sustained injuries from personal accidents. Your role will involve direct patient interaction, medical office administration, and assisting in procedures under the supervision of our medical staff. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a medical office and a solid understanding of personal injury care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for their medical appointments
- Take patient medical histories, including details about injuries from accidents
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and preparing patients for exams
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and treatments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including injury documentation and progress notes
- Coordinate with insurance companies to assist with claims and billing for personal injury cases
- Manage patient scheduling and follow-up appointments
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment for patient care
- Educate patients on injury management, treatment plans, and post-care instructions
- Perform other administrative and clinical duties as required by the healthcare team
Qualifications:
- Required: Medical Assistant certification or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably with a focus on personal injury care or rehabilitation
- Strong understanding of personal injury protocols and treatment procedures
- Proficient in medical office software and electronic health records (EHR)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and staff
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
