The Role:

AMD is seeking an experienced communications professional with a proven track record in planning and executing communications for a dynamic, fast-growing global organization. This role will be split between executive communications and global internal employee communications.

In executive communications role, you will involve develop and executive communication strategies that align with the company’s vision, values, and growth opportunities, ensuring that the executive's message resonate with both internal and external audiences.

On the employee communications side, the role will be crucial in advancing AMD’s business objectives by ensuring internal alignment around our vision, strategy, and priorities and driving productivity. You will collaborate across the company on strategic communications initiatives and leverage all internal communication channels to help shape and enhance AMD’s reputation internally.

The Person

The right person must be an excellent communicator and strong writer - with the ability to keep complex things simple. You’ll also need to be able to manage multiple programs at once in a fast-paced environment and be able to pivot quickly when needed. Candidates must have proven success and capabilities developing and executing strategic external and employee communications plans, with specific knowledge and experience in the semiconductor market being particularly valuable. The ability to collaborate with senior executives, other communicators, human resources, business function leads, and employees to align communications programs across the company is critical.

Key Responsibilities

The position entails developing and managing strong partnerships with C suite-level and senior business/regional leaders, while developing and delivering comprehensive external and internal communication strategies in support of thought leadership, brand recognition, and employee engagement. Exceptional PowerPoint skills and storytelling expertise in messaging, events management, production, and directing are critical in creating compelling presentations and managing high-profile events that reflect the vision and values of AMD.

Preferred Experience

• Narrative development, in alignment with corporate strategy and vision
• Demonstrated background creating content and messaging for diverse internal/external audiences across a variety of formats, including marquee events attendance, press and analyst relationships, social amplification, and employee communications (emails, blogs, employee events, etc)
• A track record of working closely with senior executives as a strategic communications counselor on communications strategies and activities
• Act as a partner to the business functions to address general employee engagement needs.
• Ability to collaborate, develop strong working relationships, and demonstrate horizontal leadership capabilities within a matrixed organization environment
• Strong ability to drive content creation and creative direction of PowerPoints and oversight of presentation development
• Ability to think and communicate clearly. The ideal candidate will routinely take complicated issues and create concise communications deliverables to effectively communicate the company’s point of view.
• Excellent writing skills, painstaking attention to details, and ability to navigate ambiguous issues to create concise messaging and plans
• The ability to work effectively under deadline and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven experience in balancing confidential information and effective decision making under pressure
• Preferred but not required: knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite including Sharepoint, Viva Engage and TEAMS.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
