Sr. Manager,  Server Platform Cores Systems Validation Lead

THE ROLE:  

This position is a people management position within the Core Post silicon validation organization. The team works as an integral part of our Core design, product engineering, platform SW, and HW teams to ensure we launch products with highest quality standards on time as committed to our customers. The team develops and executes detailed post-silicon validation test plans to ensure functional correctness of our design in the ecosystem. Server Platform Cores Systems Validation Lead will direct the system level debug team to isolate system level failures to a specific IP or domain. Exposure begins at the architecture level, working with pre-silicon teams to maximize pre-silicon coverage, post-silicon bring-up and enablement, and engagement through production and working with customer facing teams for best adoption. You will work in a dynamic environment, directly with the product, tools, motherboards, and BIOS/OS.

THE PERSON:  

The AMD Server platform validation team is looking for a dynamic, energetic Core Validation Lead to join our growing team focused on the Zen CPU.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Executive level communications on status, problem resolutions, and decisions required is of utmost importance given the fast-paced environment.
• • Individual will partner closely with Director of the Server System Validation teams (as well as all other product development and business peers) and must be able to lead engineers as One AMD
• Mentor and lead a team of system level debug engineers while delivering to aggressive schedules
• Drive debug and resolution of Zen CPU validation issues across silicon, firmware/BIOS, and coordinating with memory partners as needed
• Devise validation strategy from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware, validation, and debug teams
• Proactively participating in project planning, developing, and maintaining schedules, managing dependencies, and ensuring quality of deliverables at committed milestones.
• Generates/Maintains regular status representing the Server Validation team in program meetings providing status to program management

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Hands-on experience performing post-silicon validation and/or system level debug
• Good understanding of RTL, logic design and digital circuits
• Laboratory experience
• Developing validation testplans
• Coding in a high-level language for example: C/C /Python
• x86 instruction set experience is a plus
• Experience in Linux OS
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills, ability to learn quickly, and pronounced attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, a good team player

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering with multiple years of relevant experience
