THE ROLE:
The Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing (DCGPU) organization is excited to hire a highly skilled individual that can lead a team of test automation and debug engineers. We are seeking a Validation Test Automation and Regression Engineering Manager to join our team that will lead the team and thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using effective communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills. Lead and manage team to resolve validation test issues and to give quality assessments on BKCs delivered to our external customers. Individuals that are well organized, show great attention to detail, and employ critical thinking are well-suited for our team.
THE PERSON:
This AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) team is looking for an experienced manager that can help guide the team, mentor team leaders, provide long range strategy, and is willing to jump in to help resolve issues quickly. You will be involved in all areas that impact the team including debug and triage, automation, regression, and process & efficiency improvements. The right candidate will be informed on test automation strategies and become prepared to give consultative direction to senior management.
A highly motivated self-starter and manages interaction with partners/customers. Person has to have experience in validation of complex CPU/GPUs in a system. Have leadership skills in driving complex issues/problems and provide insight into not only efficient execution and regression processes but debug of complex system level problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading our BKC Test Execution and Regression Team
- Responsible for collaborating with technical leads to drive process and efficiency imporvements in our Validation Automation Methodology
- Delivering timely and quality results on our periodic BKC drops to our external customers
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills
- A powerful desire to learn new skills and understand new products and test content
- Proven record of accomplishment of working within and across groups.
Key Qualifications:
- Leadership and Communication skills are mandatory as individual will be working with several teams inside and outside of the organization, as well as multiple locations
- Team player with passion and willing to do whatever it takes for business success with a keen sense of urgency and strong drive.
- Bachelors or Master’s in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Significant experience in SoC and/or System validation, test automation, and debug of complex issues
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing engineering teams
- Collaborate with partners/customers throughout validation including having knowledge of the domains, software and f/w teams, and automation tools
- Exposure to systems architecture, Knowledgeable about the architecture of AMD CPUs and GPUs
- Able to work as a team and work efficiently in a dynamic environment and on multiple projects
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor or master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or an equivalent preferred, minimum 10 years of system validation test automation, debug, and/or customer support experience.
