Vice President of Hyperscale/Cloud Business Development for Instinct Data Center GPUs

 

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. If this resonates with you, come and joining our Data Center GPU organization where we are building amazing AI powered products with amazing people.

 

The Role:

 As the Vice President of Hyperscale/Cloud Business Development for Instinct Data Center GPUs, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success and expansion of AMD’s cutting-edge Instinct GPU products across the cloud service provider segment.  This senior leadership position requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in cloud technology, AI Accelerators, and driving close partnerships with hyperscale clients. Your role will involve leading strategic partnerships, driving market growth, and ensuring the successful integration of AMD products into these critical cloud ecosystems.

 

You will be responsible for all aspects of business development, including partnership identification, market analysis, technical collaboration, sales enablement, contract negotiation, and industry engagement. This role requires a strong understanding of the cloud landscape, technical capabilities, and customer requirements. You will collaborate closely with internal product teams, sales, marketing, and partner organizations to drive the success of AMD’s GPU offerings in cloud and AI workloads.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development Strategy:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy targeting Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. Drive the integration and adoption of AMD's Instinct GPU products in cloud environments, ensuring success in AI, HPC, and Sovereign AI markets. Identify growth opportunities across cloud service providers to enhance revenue generation and market share.
  2. Partnership Identification and Engagement:
    Build and maintain strategic relationships with major cloud service providers, including AWS, Google, Oracle, and Microsoft. Engage in joint go-to-market strategies, technology integration, and optimize AMD GPU technology across their cloud platforms. Strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders within the cloud ecosystem, including system integrators, developers, and enterprise customers.
  3. Market Analysis and Opportunity Assessment:
    Lead market research and competitive analysis to assess market trends, customer demands, and emerging opportunities within the cloud space. Analyze market dynamics to align AMD’s Instinct GPU product roadmap with the evolving needs of cloud providers and their customers.
  4. Technical Collaboration:
    Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to ensure AMD's GPU products meet the technical needs of cloud providers. Foster technical alignment and co-design opportunities with cloud partners to optimize the performance of AMD's GPUs in cloud-hosted HPC and AI workloads.
  5. Sales Enablement and Revenue Generation:
    Work closely with the global sales organization to design and implement sales strategies that support the adoption and growth of AMD's GPU products in the cloud. Enable the sales teams with technical insights, business solutions, and product demonstrations to drive customer engagement and close deals.
  6. Contract Negotiation and Execution:
    Lead contract negotiations with cloud partners and strategic ecosystem players to secure favorable terms, ensure alignment with business objectives, and drive mutual success. Ensure timely execution and compliance in partnership agreements while collaborating with legal and finance teams.
  7. Industry Engagement and Thought Leadership:
    Represent AMD’s Instinct GPU products at industry conferences, cloud partner events, and customer meetings. Establish AMD as a thought leader in cloud AI and HPC technologies. Build strong relationships with industry influencers, analysts, and key customers to enhance AMD’s position in the cloud ecosystem.
  8. Team Leadership and Development:
    Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development team dedicated to the cloud and HPC verticals. Foster an innovative and results-driven culture, supporting the team in achieving business goals and professional growth.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive Business Development Experience:
    Proven success in driving business growth within cloud environments, specifically with cloud service providers (Microsoft, AWS, Google, Oracle). Demonstrated ability to build and nurture long-term strategic partnerships with leading technology companies.
  • HPC and Cloud Market Expertise:
    Deep knowledge of HPC, AI, and cloud technologies, with a clear understanding of cloud architectures, workloads, and customer needs.
  • Strong Technical and Business Acumen:
    Ability to understand complex technological solutions and translate them into compelling business value propositions for cloud providers and enterprise customers.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation Expertise:
    Expertise in sales enablement and creating sales strategies that drive revenue. Experience in working with sales teams and supporting them through technical training, campaigns, and customer-facing opportunities.
  • Contract Negotiation Skills:
    Successful track record in negotiating high-value contracts and partnerships with cloud providers and strategic partners.
  • Proven Leadership:
    Exceptional leadership skills with experience in building and leading cross-functional teams. Ability to inspire and drive results across multiple teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Industry Engagement:
    Experience engaging with key players in the cloud, AI, and HPC sectors. Ability to influence and lead industry conversations, ensuring AMD is recognized as an innovative leader in the space.

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
