Summary : Develops, implements, and maintains control of molding processes and provides support to the execution of the production schedule related to component changes, setups, and startups. Supports the project team with molding process development, optimizes manufacturing processes for the production team and implements new technologies to improve efficiency, quality and reduce cost.
Schedule : Monday - Friday
Essential Functions :
1. Manage molding development activities for all new molding products as well as cross-validation with ownership of the Molding Process Development Workbook and Master Process Sheets.
2. Optimize existing processes and equipment to improve product quality, efficiency, and safety.
3. Develop, implement, and train mold techs on new processes, procedures and work instructions due to engineering changes, non-conformances, or planned semi-annual maintenance.
4. Participated in DFM sessions, kick-off meeting, RFQ team, and mold design review and customer communications to provide technical support and recommendations on design optimization or improvements related to materials, processing, and molding simulations.
5. Manage equipment and technology implementation projects including procurement, upgrades, modifications, qualification (EQ, IQ, OQ, PQ), acceptance testing (FAT & SAT), FMEA, calibration and PM set-up.
6. Collaborate with the scheduling and engineering teams on sampling, project development and ongoing project management to meet established milestones and project deadlines.
7. Contract suppliers, analyze proposed quotes and solutions, manage implementation timelines, and ensure speed, quality and safety requirements are met.
8. Support the QMS by ensuring compliance with ISO standards and other applicable regulatory requirements through proper and timely documentation and record keeping.
9. Track, report and utilize KPI data related to molding processes to identify and make recommendations for equipment and technology improvements (CIPs) that reduce cost.
10. All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Engineering experience in Injection Molding or Medical Device Manufacturing.
3. Programs and Software : RJG, Moldflow, SolidWorks, Automation, ERPs, Microsoft Office.
4. Standards, Regulations, Concepts : Scientific Molding, Conformal Cooling, ISO 9001 / 13485, FDA.
5. Resource Management : Time / Efficiency, Personnel, Material and financial.
6. Complex problem solving, judgement and decision making.
7. Social / Team Skills : Self-Awareness, Collaboration, Service Orientation, Active Listening, Positive, Outgoing, Understanding, Cooperative, Creative and Responsive.

Physical Requirements :
1. Move freely and frequently through and between buildings, manufacturing, and office spaces.
2. Daily use of a computer, phone, and other electronic communication devices.
3. Occasional visual inspection of parts, components, or raw materials.
4. Occasional use of forklift, crane, hoist, scissor lift, pallet jack to assist production.
5. Lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
