Duties
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide direct patient care, including exercises, modalities, and functional training.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.
- Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients post-treatment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to understand body mechanics and movement.
- Experience in home health settings, providing care in patients' residences.
- Familiarity with trigger point therapy techniques to address muscle tension and pain.
- Understanding of geriatric care principles to effectively treat older adults.
- Proficiency in outpatient physical therapy practices for diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively within the healthcare team.
