Position Overview
Advanced Network Professionals is looking for a motivated and well-rounded Network Technician to join our team. This role involves a variety of technology-related tasks including desktop support, server management, networking, phone systems, and door access. You do not need to know everything walking in, but a strong foundation in IT and a willingness to learn will go a long way.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, servers, and network devices
- Work with networking equipment including patch panels, jacks, fiber, and wireless gear
- Maintain and support client phone systems and door access technologies
- Monitor and manage client networks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure infrastructure is secure and reliable
- Manage firewalls, antivirus solutions, and wireless security setups
- Support Active Directory environments and Microsoft 365 administration
- Perform data backups and restores as needed
- Work through an electronic ticketing system to resolve client issues
- Take on a variety of tech support tasks depending on client needs and systems
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in IT support, systems, or network administration
- Working knowledge of Windows Server (2012 and newer), Windows 10 or 11, and Microsoft 365
- Experience with Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure AD is helpful
- Familiarity with phone systems and access control technology
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs
- Comfortable working independently and communicating directly with clients
- Organized and able to manage multiple tickets or projects at once
Certifications That Are a Plus (Not Required)
- Microsoft certifications such as MCP, MCSA, or role-based Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP
- CompTIA certifications including A , Network , or Security
- Experience with technologies from Fortinet, SonicWall, Ruckus, Barracuda, VMware, or Nimble
