POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL: TREATMENT

- Evaluate and treat adults with congenital, developmental, and acquired neurologic impairment or disease.
- Establish a plan of care based on the examination findings and identified impairments and functional limitations, patient/caregiver goals, and best available evidence.
- Execute plan of care through the delivery interventions consistent with current evidence.
- Perform regular reassessments of patient progress to determine effectiveness of treatment plan and selected interventions.
- Communicate with the patient, caregivers, physician, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care and progress toward goals and provide education to the patient, their family members, and caregivers regarding the patient’s condition, home exercise program, and prognosis.
- Complete documentation of services provided according to industry standards promptly.
- Advocate on behalf of the patient for provision of services and goods that would improve the patient’s function and/or quality of life and reduce burden of care.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduation with a Master’s degree Speech & Language Pathology
- Current CCC-SLP license in the state of Arizona
- Current CPR certification
BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care which is age specific/appropriate for patients served.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Appropriate interpersonal skills to enable positive interactions with patients/families, and other health care professionals.
