Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide support with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure residents can move safely within their environment.
- Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any changes in health status to nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with resident rights and HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Administer first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Skills
- Experience in patient care or working within a group home setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for their needs.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and the ability to perform basic medical tasks.
- Proficiency in monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting residents with mobility needs.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
