What are the responsibilities and job description for the X-Ray Technician position at Advanced Orthopedic Center?
Advanced Orthopedic Center has been serving patients in the Southwest Florida area since 1980. Our top-notch team of physicians and surgeons - along with our support staff of physician assistants, technicians and therapists - offer comprehensive orthopedic care to patients of all ages.
In addition to treating our clinic's patients, the surgeons of Advanced Orthopedic Center serve as spring training team physicians for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Atlanta Braves major league baseball team.
Our entire staff is dedicated to providing courteous and caring service. We are currently seeking a Radiologic Technologist (Xray Tech) to join our staff.
Summary:
Carries out x-ray procedures as ordered by physicians. Assists physicians by providing clinical assistant services to patients as needed
Responsibilities
· Prepares patient for x-ray
· Enters patient information into Digital X-ray system as needed and takes x-rays as ordered.
· Sends studies to PACS using appropriate procedures
· Files films following appropriate office procedures
· Checks x-ray supplies and orders as approved by management
· Maintains equipment in good working order by taking proper care
· Ensures that equipment state licenses are current
· Collates and ensures that all films and discs are delivered and returned to/from outside sources as requested (i.e. Hospital O.R.)
· Ensures that radiology films/discs that are done outside the office are available to physician as requested (for follow up appointments) and uploaded to the PACS account for patient
· Functions as a clinical assistant to physician based on scheduling protocols developed by Clinical Supervisor. Other duties include: bandaging, casting, drawing injections, dressing changes, completing forms, writing up surgery paperwork and more.
· Scanning done as needed
Qualifications
· Must possess a Radiologic Technician license.
· Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida.
· 2 years previous medical office experience preferred.
· Orthopedic experience preferred.
