Position Summary:
With minimal supervision or training, responsible for purchasing for Company operations including manufacturing, deployment readiness, engineering, and accounts payable, through placement of all purchase orders, obtaining quotes, lead time and availability of equipment, materials and supplies and ensuring timely delivery.
Responsible for the day-to-day execution of purchasing and supply chain standard work tasks and continuous improvement activities. Standard work tasks include purchase order processing, confirming and monitoring delivery schedules, identifying and resolving minor discrepancies in transaction details, and communication with vendors.

Essential Functions:
- Completes standard work tasks daily.
- Prepare and administer purchase requisition and purchase ordering processing from issuance through closure.
- Confirming and monitoring delivery dates and expediting delivery of purchased materials and supplies when needed.
- Enter updated vendor information and maintain accurate vendor records.
- Ensure vendor invoicing discrepancies are corrected at the root cause.
- Prepare and contact vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes for stock and special-order items.
- Research the availability, quality and price of equipment, materials, and supplies. Monitors and communicates market prices for raw materials.
- Investigate and develop new supply sources.
- Meet with vendors as needed.
- Make necessary adjustments with vendors and suppliers regarding replacements, incomplete orders or damaged supplies or materials.
- Negotiate as required to maximize cost savings and service.
- Maintain working professional relationships with all assigned suppliers.
- Communicate with vendors based on needs.
- Works with manufacturing/quality engineering, operations, and receiving to evaluate defects, credit, preventative root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Follow-up with departments to ensure supplier and vendor performance is acceptable.
- Participates in team (department or company-wide) projects as needed.
- Serve as liaison when necessary to solve routine problems and disputes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Experience, Education, and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years work related experience preferred.
- Proficient in detailed data entry in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams.
- Ability to prioritize daily and weekly activities and discern the need to adjust priorities.
- Communication: Talking to others to convey information effectively. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Ability to communicate with a high degree of respect towards others.

45,000 - 55,000 USD per year(API-Baltimore)
