Job Description – Claims Specialist
Job Type: Full Time
Growing medical practice has an immediate need for a Claims Specialist with well-rounded knowledge researching and addressing unpaid medical claims. Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of 1 year experience directly related to claims resolution. This position is in office only.
Primary Responsibilities:
o Review aging reports
o Identify and resolve insurance denials and unpaid claims within a timely manner
o Communicate with insurance payers and patients
o Follow up on unpaid claims until receipt of payment
o Identify and communicate trends impacting revenue cycle to management and team members
o Review office visit notes and apply CPT and ICD-10 Coding Rules
Secondary Responsibilities
o Other duties as assigned by manager
Job Requirements:
o Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office
o Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
o Detail oriented with excellent organization skills
o Ability to work independently or part of a team
o Strong problem-solving skills
o Knowledge and understanding of billing procedures and regulations
o Experience working with Medicare and commercial insurance
o Knowledge and experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines
Experience:
Healthcare Insurance Billing Knowledge: 2 Years (Required)
Unpaid and denied claims resolution: 1 Year (Required)
Customer Service: 2 Years (Required)
