Registered Nurse - Pain Management-Surgery Center
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team specializing in pain management. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate and effective nursing care to patients, ensuring safety and therapeutic efficacy. This role involves implementing care plans based on nursing assessments and medical directives, as well as educating patients and families on treatment plans.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in service rotations including patient medication monitoring visits, phone triage, and intrathecal pump refill and management.
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation under direct physician supervision.
- Explain procedures, treatments, and test results to patients to ensure understanding and alleviate concerns.
- Respond to emergency situations using nursing standards and protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments using approved nursing techniques.
Expectations:
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain accuracy and meet deadlines and short notice requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: Critical care experience preferred.
- Education: Registered Nursing license required.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills essential for coordinating workflow and supporting colleagues and patients. Must possess exceptional empathy and be adept at assessing patient needs.
- Other Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks, flexibility in handling various responsibilities, and excellent time management skills.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly.
- Clear vision, distance vision, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder height.
