Staff Accountant

Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant for a new opening with our client in the Reidsville area. This role will support management in meeting reporting deadlines and support month-end and year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant will also be involved in the maintenance and control of General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to prepare, verify, allocate and post journal entries and incoming AR payments.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist the Controller with treasury functions and bank reconciliation.
• Assist in closing procedures at month end, prepare accruals and journal entries, and maintain reconciliations for all key balance sheet accounts in accordance with accepted accounting principles.
• Maintain and Reconcile Fixed Asset ledger including performing monthly depreciation schedule.
• Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Reconcile intercompany balances between divisions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.
• Assist with annual tax preparation.
• Reconciliation of inventory accounts, including accurate and timely inventory reporting.
• Help manage physical inventory counts and record adjustments as needed.
• AR responsibilities include posting incoming payments, communicating with customers on payment status and coordinating with other departments on resolving problems.
• Navigate customers portals to utilize payment and deduction information.
• Create various reports including AR Aging and Chargeback analysis.
• Assist Accounts Payable and Billing as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess the ability to understand departmental operations and procedures.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP software.
