Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant with a minimum of 1 year experience to join our healthcare team immediately. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position involves working with well-established healthcare providers part time, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and half a day Thursday in an outpatient setting. You must be able to travel between our Howland and Champion locations (approximately 10 mins apart). You will assist with various clinical tasks and provide exceptional patient service.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, surgical procedures and wound care.
- Take and record vital signs.
- Assist healthcare providers with drawing injections.
- Prepare patients by assisting with shoes.
- Provide medical administrative support, including managing patient records using EMR.
- Setup and prepare treatment rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the back office area to ensure a safe environment.
- Educate and communicate with patients regarding their treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Taking X-rays when required. (GMXO license)
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year previous experience required.
- Familiarity with patient service protocols and medical administrative systems.
- Knowledge of vital sign measurement techniques.
- Ability to perform basic clinical tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.
- Experience with EMR.
- GMXO license is preferred.
- Wound care knowledge and experience is preferred.
- A driver's license is required as you must be able to travel between two locations, three days a week.
