General Purpose:
The Packaging and Shipping Technician is responsible for picking, packing, and processing materials/products for shipment and delivery. The role may also involve assisting with assembly as needed. Flexibility to work overtime is required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for picking, packing, and shipping orders to customers.
- Perform ERP and carrier transactions for shipments using a personal computer and internet.
- Maintain inventory of materials required to assemble and ship products.
- Break down and assemble products as needed to ensure safe packing for shipment, including both mechanical and electrical components.
- Assist in the Assembly department as needed to construct products.
- Collaborate with the supervisor to ensure on-time shipment and delivery of products.
Miscellaneous Duties:
- Follow all established processes and standard work to meet customer satisfaction.
- Participate in an annual Training/Development plan.
- Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep the shipping area clean and organized.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Forklift experience and a valid driver’s license required.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to interact with diverse groups.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Familiarity with hand tools, personal computers, phones, forklifts, and automobiles.

Education and/or Training:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of shipping experience, with a strong background in mechanical/electrical assembly.
