Overview:

The Worker will apply their expert knowledge of Microsoft .NET Core software development at RRC for agency business applications to support the needs of the Mainframe Transformation project teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The .NET Lead Developer performs advanced analysis and programming work involving all technical aspects of supporting, improving, and enhancing RRCs mainframe modernization project.
  • This position requires strong .NET Core programming experience, experience with JSON, Swagger, MS-SQL, and C# core skills to be able to develop custom integrations with the existing RBDMS platform.
  • We are seeking a proactive team leader who will be responsible for enhancing the assigned application and solving production issues.
  • Work assignments follow a defined software development life cycle (SDLC) process using a modified Agile-like approach for completing code changes for defined releases.
  • The .NET Lead Developer works across multiple agency stakeholders to ensure online form applications are developed, unit tested, regression tested and delivered error free in support of RRCs regulation requirements for the Oil and Gas and Energy Industry of Texas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Application Development Best Practices: Develop software, or forms components, recommend database schema changes and ensuring they adhere to RRC and industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements. Perform testing to verify that the product matches the requirements, including the creation of test data, test cases and test scripts.
  • Technical Skill: Perform technical analysis on existing defects or proposed enhancements to increase efficiency or to adapt to new procedures. Identify root cause and solution for complex problems.
  • Team Contribution: Collaborate with the project team for sprint/release work on tasks such as providing development effort estimates, discussing architecture and design, triage and resolving defects or issues in multiple environments and providing status on work assignments or issues; Prepare and maintain technical documentation as required (i.e., process flows, object or data models, project plans, environment diagrams, test plans, etc.).

EXPERIENCE-

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 4 Years: Graduation from an accredited four-year college o r university with a degree in computer science or r elated field
  • 8 Years: At least eight [8] years of experience in software development using .NET with C#
  • 8 Years: At least eight [8] years of experience in .NET core development, working in a team environment.
  • 8 Years: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex techni cal issues.
  • 8 Years: Must be available some nights and weekends for supporting code deployments and application support.
  • 8 Years: Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high quality work in a dynamic environment.
  • 8 Years: Highly organized and able to manage multiple tas ks at once and meet deadlines.
  • 4 Years: Experience in leading a team and guiding junior d evelopers

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • 4 Years: Experience in using GoAnywhere – secure file tra nsfer Software.
  • 4 Years: Proficiency in databases and MSSQL.
  • 4 Years: Experience specifically with Azure DevOps and br oadly distributed version control.
  • 4 Years: Experience in use of Visual Studio IDE.
  • 4Years: Experience in Telerik or Kendo UI controls.
  • 4 Years: Adept at creating and maintaining Unit Tests and t esting classes. Resolving software anomalies an d creating regression te
  • 4 Years: Experienced with a service-oriented architecture ( SOA) concepts, microservices, RESTful APIs pri marily as a consumer of those services.
  • 4 Years: Helpful to have knowledge of creation and manipu lation of .PDF documents or experience with iText.
  • 4 Years: Previous experience with Azure multiple environm ent deployment is helpful.

Contract Details:

  • The primary work location(s) will be at Work from Home/Remote.
  • Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Railroad Commission of Texas. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed. A consistent work schedule will be determined with input from selected candidates based on workload and assignments.
  • Services are expected to start 5/01/2025 and are expected to be completed by 8/31/2025. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 628 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing, which will be determined in July or August of 2025 based on RRC funding availability for the next fiscal year.

Renewal Periods for Contract:

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
