- Communicate with referring physicians, patients and others by telephone to provide information, answer questions, schedule appointments and call backs, etc.
- Complete patient admission process accurately and efficiently.
- Provide and explain exam preps to patients, resolve patients’ questions or concerns; if necessary seek assistance from technologists or physicians.
- Receive and record patient copays as required by health insurance carriers; ensure that collected cash and checks are processed according to established protocols and schedules.
- Provide assistance to technologists, patient care assistants, physicians and other ARC staff as requested.
- Scan documents accurately.
- Ensure that incoming faxes are delivered and/or acted on immediately.
- Maintain records of all outside reads; ensure that results are communicated on time.
- Stocking and preparing radiologic rooms; and assisting the patient on and off the exam table.
- Weekend hours required on rotating schedule.
- Ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced, high volume environment is a must
- Strong typing skills desired
- Bi-lingual skills are helpful
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Graduate of Medical Office Assistant Program preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
