Position Summary: This position is responsible for obtaining and managing benefits and prior-authorizations for procedures, office visits, and ancillary services for an Interventional Pain Medicine Group.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent verbal and written communications kills. Requires effective customer relation skills, ability to organize and interpret data. Requires good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and ability to problem solve. Able to work effectively in a team environment.
Job Responsibilities:
· Contact insurance carriers to verify patient’s insurance eligibility, benefits and requirements.
· Request, track and obtain prior-authorization from primary care offices and insurance carriers within time allotted for medical services.
· Request, follow up and secure prior-authorizations prior to services being performed.
· Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology, high proficiency of general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations.
· Communicate any insurance changes or trends among team.
· Maintains a level of productivity suitable for the department.
· Clearly document all communications and contacts with providers and personnel in standardized documentation requirements, including proper format.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Working Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding
· Working Knowledge of Online Insurance Portals and Authorization Portals
· Experience in Pain Management preferred but not required
· Working Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (NextGen Software Preferred)
· Excellent professional communication abilities, at all levels within the organization and with patients, at all times.
· 2 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Proficient with medical terminology

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
