  • Job Summary :

    The Project Engineer (I / II) will oversee and support the delivery of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role involves working with both internal and external teams, requiring strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Responsibilities : Project Engineer I :

    • Support the management of assigned capital projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
    • Communicate with city, county, and other governmental agencies, as well as utilities.
    • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
    • Perform quality control checks and recommend improvements where needed.
    • Prepare and present regular project progress reports to supervisors.
    • Collaborate with field and engineering teams to coordinate changes and resolve issues.
    • Project Engineer II :

    • Independently manage multiple capital projects for regulated utilities.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to support staff as required.
    • Ensure that projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality control standards.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and corrective action plans.
    • Facilitate communication with internal teams and external agencies.
    • Produce reports on project progress and coordinate field changes with engineers.
    • Qualifications : Project Engineer I :

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, environmental engineering, construction management, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in MS Project and other project management software preferred.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience with fixed asset software (PowerPlan) and JD Edwards is a plus.
    • Project Engineer II :

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental engineering, or construction management.
    • Project Management certification (e.g., PMI, AAPM) or PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred.
    • At least two years of construction management experience in public works or utility projects.
    • Familiarity with MS Project, PowerPlan, and JD Edwards is beneficial.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

    Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
