You will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls related to the company's financial accounts. As an important member of the Finance team, the Controller is expected to make a high-impact contribution to our financial goals. The ideal candidate will be required to provide financial statements and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, and establish/maintain lender relationships.

Key Responsibilities
The Controller leads our corporate accounting function and is responsible for planning, directing, and executing the day-to-day and monthly accounting activities. Responsible for developing and implementing financial policies, as well as leading the department. Conducts detailed analyses of cost center activity working collaboratively with business unit leaders and management in the evaluation of financial data to identify business opportunities and cost reductions.
- Oversees various accounting operations, and manages the Companies overall accounting and operating control environment
- Manages billing, accounts receivables, credit & collections, accounts payable, inventory and general ledger accounting
- Identifies accounting and financial issues, and suggests timely solutions
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Acts as a liaison with the IT department for Accounting & Finance
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Produce and/or support the production of financial statements as needed
- Coordinate and manage the preparation of regulatory reporting and annual audit
- Manage the compliance with local, state, and federal government tax and licensing requirements and filings
- Keeps Senior Management informed of performance and provides advice on all financial matters.
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA/MBA preferred
Experience
- 7 to 10 years of accounting working experience; at least 3 years in a Controller role
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Project and service organization experience/accounting is a plus
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong, working knowledge of financial accounting systems and control environments, and well-developed financial analysis capabilities.
- Understanding of long-term contract accounting and corresponding revenue recognition very helpful but not required
- ERP experience required; Microsoft SL experience is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements and recommendations
- Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance and build functional accounting team; must have the ability to manage a small staff, while still working autonomously
- Must be an independent worker while contributing to a team environment
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills required to manage multiple tasks
- Must work well in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
- A strong work ethic and a high level of self-motivation
- Must possess leadership skills and attributes, and have the ability to work with and successfully with other departments and leaders
