Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Material Handler to support the safe and timely movement of consumable material through the designated branch location. The Material Handler will receive, store and document arrival material from suppliers and reverse inventory from job sites. The material will be stored away in designated storage areas. Materials include Solar, HVAC and Roofing inventory. They will be responsible for completing order fulfilment requests for the materials sent to job sites. Additional to completing transactions for consumable material, the Material Handler will receive, store, distribute tools and equipment essential for the job site.

- Maintain the smooth operational movement of material through various tasks such as tracking inventory, processing, and preparing orders, and ensuring the inventory storage areas are organized and meet the company’s safety guidelines.
Job Responsibilities

Administrative Tasks:
- Assist in the preparation of reports on material inventory levels.
- Provide information on product availability and delivery status as needed.
- Accurately complete all necessary forms and documents for each assigned task.

Inventory Management:
- Assists in conducting periodic audits such as cycle counts, wall-to-wall and other validation processes.
- Accurately maintain material inventory in designated storage areas and bins.
- Updates the warehouse management system with information regarding the movement and location of materials and equipment.
- Notify immediate Supervisor of any material replenish needs.

Order Processing:
- Pick and pack orders according to packing slips or electronic manifests.
- Prepare material for pick list loads, including securing material and labeling procedures to ensure they reach their destination in good condition.
- Prepare load lists material and equipment for service and production for all internal product divisions.
- Operate company vehicles safely to load materials and equipment.
- Inspect materials for defects and report any issues.

Receiving Goods:
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments against the delivery documentation.
- Use the designated machinery to physically move material and equipment to designated storage location.
- Unload and appropriately sort and store incoming deliveries.
- Process equipment and materials returning from job sites.
- Notify supervisors of any damage or discrepancies in shipment contents.
- Update warehouse management system accurately.
- Inspect materials for defects and report any issues.

Maintenance and Housekeeping:
- Keep the facility clean and organized to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Complete daily vehicle inspection report and communicate any deficiencies.
- Follow organizational protocols to dispose of waste materials appropriately.
- Ensure the driving area is clear of debris and possible material or hardware.

Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
- Conduct vehicle and equipment inspection accordingly and follow Tag-Out procedures.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education
- High School Diploma required, associate's degree preferred.
Experience
- 1year of experience in a warehouse setting required
- 1 year of experience working in a construction supply industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
- Being eligible to drive company vehicles.
- Currently 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to pass a government background check
- Pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word to be able to perform editing data entries of software documents)
- Able to read, write and interpret documents with various shipping information
- Able to use computer software programs such as Warehouse Management System WMS, and scanners.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management
- Able to lift heavy items (up to 75 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading material and equipment
- Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and other departments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deadline driven
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order processing and inventory management
- Flexible to accommodate changing priorities and shifts in day-to-day tasks
Working Conditions | Environment | Special Requirements
- Full time onsite within warehouse facility, facility yard and property.
- Ability to work in the outside environment, open to the elements, under reasonable inclement weather.
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, State and Federal regulations.
