Financial Analyst - Logistics Company

Location: Medina, MN

Reports To: CFO

This position will be a hybrid role working 1-2 days in the office and the rest from home.

Position Overview

This position will report directly to the CFO and is responsible for partnering with business leaders to provide financial analysis to support decisions. Key responsibilities of the Financial Analyst are creating and managing weekly scorecards; aiding in financial reporting from the month-end close to customer, vendor, and financial audits; and ad-hoc analysis supporting business initiatives. This role is responsible for the billing function in our Trailer Management business and will partner with customers to ensure smooth processing of receivables. The financial analyst is a high visibility position that works closely with sales, finance, operations, and customer stakeholders to ensure transactions are booked timely and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

What You'll Do:

• Performs the billing function in accordance with contract requirements and GAAP.
• Communicate with customers to ensure receivables are collected on time.
• Reports company KPIs on various scorecards to support business initiatives.
• Performs profitability analysis by customer, service category, and item and leads improvements to financial reporting.
• Identifies process improvements and ERP system enhancements in a continuous improvement environment.
• Uses ERP report writing, Excel or advanced analytics tools to build reports and dashboards that enhance understanding of the business.
• Performs ad-hoc analysis, as required, to support business initiatives.
• Provides financial analysis to further development of the annual operating plan.
• Assists with month-end closing procedures.
• Provides support for various audit activities.
• Supports project initiatives to reduce transaction waste and move to paperless environment.
Other projects or duties as assigned by the CFO.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or similar field
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis, financial analysis, and month-end close responsibilities
• Experience analyzing large sets of data using Excel or advanced tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and possess intermediate Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Sorting and Filtering, etc.)
• Demonstrated attention to detail required along with a high degree of resourcefulness.
• Unquestionable ethics and integrity - ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred.
