Lead Dental Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Dental Assistant is responsible for leading and managing fellow dental assistants (currently 3 other assistants) including time-off requests, maintaining supply inventory and ordering, ensuring all assisting tasks are assigned completed, and providing patients with an excellent experience with us.

Advanced Solutions Family Dental is a private practice owned since 2016 by one of our dentists, Dr. Carly Paragas. We outgrew our previous location and in 2023 we moved and expanded into our new state-of-the-art office still in Oak Forest. Our mission is making people healthier and happier! We help patients achieve and maintain the level of oral health they need to keep smiling with confidence. We are proud to provide excellent dental care, patient experiences, and community service in the area. We are currently looking for a Lead Dental Assistant to complete our team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Represent our practice’s Brand and Core Values at all times including:
- Be a team player; have mutual respect for all team members; do your part to nurture a healthy, fun team culture
- Provide excellent patient care and a WOW patient experience
- Welcome and seat patients. Gather patient health and dental histories and document appropriately in Open Dental.
- Review patient chart, discuss planned treatment, answer questions, obtain written and/or verbal consent per practice policy, and give post op instructions.
- Manage the assistants’ staffing schedule, time off requests, and ensure adequate coverage
- Set up, maintain, clean, and sterilize instruments and equipment per OSHA guidelines
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our practice
- Participate in community engagement activities and social media activities
- Complete all required annual trainings
- Maintain accurate patient records in Open Dental
- Take accurate diagnostic records including radiographs, photos, impressions, scans, and blood pressure.
- Ensure lab cases are tracked and received on time
- Increase the efficiency of the doctors by being prepared and organized for every procedure. Communicate with front office to maintain “no wait time” appointments
- Ensure each patient has an excellent experience while a guest in our office!
Key Performance Indicators include but are not limited to:
- Adequate assistant coverage each day
- All maintenance logs and checklists are complete
- No “out of stock” supplies
- Supplies ordered within budget
- On-time appointments
QUALIFICATIONS
- Coronal polishing and sealant certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training
- Attention to detail, organized, strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficient with taking and managing analog and digital dental records
