What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Certification Coordinator position at Advanced Specialty Care?
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced individual who is looking to join our busy medical practice. The individual is responsible for the prior authorization of diagnostic imaging, office procedures, and medications.
Job Duties
- Obtain authorization for diagnostic imaging, office procedures, and medications.
- Contact payers via phone and the Internet to verify eligibility and applicable benefits, including effective coverage dates, limitations and exclusions, co-pays, deductibles, and/or coinsurance.
- Provide clinical information, letters of medical necessity & photographs to insurance companies for procedures requiring medical review.
- Track pre-certification approval & denial letters Communicate with colleagues and keep the team aware of issues and concerns that impact the pre-cert process
Qualifications
- Experienced with CPT and ICD-9 codes
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Well-versed in: HMO, PPO, Managed Care, Third third-party administrator Plans, and Workers' Compensation
- Ability to distinguish the differences between: deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays
- Experience with Electronic Health Record Software programs
Requirement
Minimum of 1 year medical pre-certification experience
Work Schedule-Hybrid Remote (Danbury location)
Monday through Friday (9 am to 1 pm);20 hours per week
