Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for medical professionals.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks, including filing and maintaining patient records.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate staff member.
- Monitor waiting areas to ensure patient comfort and address any concerns.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Support clinical staff by preparing necessary documentation for patient visits.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical, emergency medicine, outpatient services, dermatology, and PICU is advantageous.
- Proficient in handling vital signs and understanding basic medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in medical administration are a plus.
