Overview: The Advanced Surgery Center of North County is seeking a highly skilled and experienced OR Manager RN to lead our surgical team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing excellent patient care, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.Main Responsibilities:
- Schedule and supervise the OR staff (Nurses, Radiology, Surgical, SPD and Anesthesia techs) to provide a daily smooth flow of cases.
- Assist in coordination of daily case scheduling in the O.R. with other staff to ensure schedule will flow smoothly
- Prepare, coordinate and perform monthly O.R. staff meetings.
- Communicate effectively with physicians to resolve issues and provide efficiency and smooth case flow.
- Orders instruments and equipment for cases.
- Provide OR education by coordinating and/or giving in-services.
- Supervise the evening shift which includes coordination of the staff for case completions of the day and setting up for the next day
- Communicate with vendors and representatives for supplies, equipment or instruments that are needed for cases.
- Works closely with Materials and Sterile Processing Dept to coordinate supplies & instrument needs to physician preference and case need.
- Prepare and administer annual evaluations
- Participate in hiring and orienting OR staff members
- Revise and review O.R. policies and procedures
- Maintain compliance for Joint Commission accreditation
- Enter company data collections and observations with company EDGE
- Assistance with staff counseling as necessary
- Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.
- Able to process problems as opportunities
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Baccalaureate degree preferred.
- Five (5) years' experience in surgery as circulator
- Two (2) years' experience in surgery management which includes pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care.
- Current CA RN License- BLS
- Independent decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must have Ortho experience in the OR.
