What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy Technician position at Advanced Surgical Institute?
The ideal candidate will have EXPERIENCE as an Endoscopy Technician and Surgical Technician. Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure. Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’ preference card. Inspects equipment and instruments for proper working condition. Arranges equipment and instruments according to routine for given procedure. Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays. Correctly utilizes, cares for instruments, supplies and equipment as directed. Assists the physician during procedure according to SGNA and AORN standards. When assisting in manipulating the endoscope, always has full view of lumen by utilizing teaching adaptor or video screen. Handles specimens appropriately and labels correctly. Cleans equipment according to infection control guidelines and manufactures guidelines. Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety. Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the endoscopy room for immediate access during procedure. Assists in work area by cleaning and storing equipment and instruments according to manufacturer guidelines. Assists in storing and stocking of supplies as directed. Maintains and updates physician preference cards. Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician. Documents patient care records and other forms according to facility policies and procedures
