About the Role:
We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer I to join our team, offering engineering analysis, design, and fabrication support for a range of technical projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Under the guidance of a Lead Engineer, you’ll be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from design through to testing and fabrication, while adhering to industry standards and company quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Engineering: Create and interpret specifications, data sheets, 3D models, and 2D drawings. Develop detailed manufacturing plans and verify designs with calculations and analysis.
- Quality Assurance: Prepare design deliverables and NQA-1 documentation. Assist with design changes and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Project Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to meet customer requirements and ensure successful project execution. Support procurement activities and assist with factory/site acceptance testing.
- Collaboration: Work with external suppliers, present design concepts to customers, and participate in technical reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0-3 years of experience or a Technical Associate’s Degree and 2-5 years of experience.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes, with a preference for custom fabrication experience.
- Familiarity with NQA-1 quality standards is a plus.
- Proficient in SolidWorks (preferred), AutoCAD, or other 3D modeling software.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply scientific and engineering principles to practical challenges.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in team environments.
Travel: Some travel required for project installations and testing (weeks at a time).
Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000 per year

- U.S. citizenship required for this role.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, occasionally noisy and physically demanding environment.
