Clearance preferred, but must be eligible(US citizen clean background)
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment
•Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program’s systems
- Implement engineering changes to the system as required
•Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures
- Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with the peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
- Occasional travel may be required
“Basic” Qualifications for Sr. Principal Network Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related (STEM) discipline with 8 years of experience; OR 6 years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree; OR 4 years of experience with STEM PhD degree; an additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree.
•Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
- Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
- Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
•Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
•Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
