What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant-Urodynamics Technician position at Advanced Urology Institute (AUI)?
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to grow with us in our Safety Harbor office. **We will train the right candidate the Urodynamic duties.**
Medical Assistant-Urodynamic Technician
To maintain a clinical environment that is clean, efficient, and compliant with all standards of care; assisting physicians in the delivery of quality care in a professional and courteous manner.
Duties:
- Operates, calibrates, and performs minor maintenance on electronic urodynamic equipment;
- Insures that urodynamic machines are functioning and accurate prior to daily patient appointments;
- Prepares and arranges instruments, towels, solutions, and other supplies for urodynamic appointments;
- Prepares patients and assists professional staff in performing a variety of urodynamic tests and related genito-urinary procedures including cystoscopies, bladder hyperthermia, and vasectomies, in addition to operating the machines;
- Responsible for catheterization of assigned patients under aseptic, atraumatic conditions: observes condition of patients and reports unusual conditions;
- Acts as a resource person to professional staff on the use of urodynamic machines relative to the needs and characteristics of individual cases;
- Obtains patient charts from Medical Records;
- Schedules appointments and main laboratory tests and calls the Outpatient Department to verify appointments;
- Collects urologic specimens from patients and delivers them to the main laboratory;
- Explains to patients particular procedures undergone
- Other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate/GED
- Medical Assistant Certification
