Description : GENERAL SUMMARY
The CT Technologist produces computerized tomographic Radiographs of designated anatomical areas, as requested, in order to provide the radiologists and / or physicians with diagnostic information. The CT Technologist provides quality patient care in relation to the patient's prescribed diagnosis and treatment needs.
Requirements :
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION / COMPETENCIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Collaborates on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
- Completes all CT exams and procedures, obtaining optimal images for physician review according to policy and protocol.
- Obtains and records patient identification, medical history, or test results.
- Performs venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports / responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Performs medical care as needed, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs and giving emergency treatments.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Practices established safety guidelines and use CT safety tools and techniques.
- Maintains, cleans and reports any issues with CT equipment.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.
- Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and / or violations to a supervisor and / or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
