Advanced Veterinary Care (AVC) is a brand new state-of-the-art urgent care and specialty hospital located in the beautiful and always growing city of Orlando, Florida. Advanced Veterinary Care is Central Florida’s newest, privately owned urgent care and specialty hospital opening early 2023. As an Overnight Veterinary Technician, you will:
- Urgent/Emergency Care: Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests (blood work, x-rays), assist in surgeries, and provide post-operative care.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs, patient records, and respond to changes or issues.
- Emergency Procedures: Provide CPR and other life-saving techniques when necessary.
- Patient Handling: Handle and restrain animals safely for examinations and treatments.
- Communication: Communicate with pet owners about their animal's condition and treatment plans.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, sterilize surgical instruments, and assist with intake and discharge.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain medical equipment like ventilators and IV pumps.
- Triage and Assessment: Conduct initial patient assessments and triage.
- Advanced Skills: Experience with anesthetic induction, monitoring, IV catheter placement, and advanced nursing care.
Expectations / Requirement:
- Prior veterinary experience is required, previous Veterinary ER or Urgent Care experience is preferred, but nor required.
- Proficient in drug calculation and strong anesthetic skills
- Display competency in general knowledge and nursing skills required to care for patients
- Strong communication skills
