What are the responsibilities and job description for the Turnaround Scheduler position at Advanced Welding VI?
The Turnaround Scheduler is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating detailed turnaround schedules in coordination with project managers, planners, engineers, and contractors. This role ensures all turnaround activities are completed within the planned schedule and budget, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing downtime. The Turnaround Scheduler will also play a key role in identifying potential scheduling conflicts and risks, coordinating with stakeholders to adjust plans as necessary to meet project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Development:
- Develop comprehensive turnaround schedules using software such as Primavera P6, incorporating all phases of the project, including pre-turnaround, execution, and post-turnaround activities.
- Define task sequences, critical path activities, and resource allocation for each project phase.
- Establish milestones and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the overall project timeline.
- Work with engineering companied finalizing engineering schedule activities.
- Transferring an engineering project to a detailed construction schedule.
- Regularly update the turnaround schedule based on actual progress and any changes to project scope or resources.
- Track completion of tasks and activities, analyze any variances from the original plan, and provide timely updates to management.
- Generate progress reports and schedule status updates, identifying any potential delays and their impact on the project.
- Proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts, resource bottlenecks, or other risks that could impact the turnaround timeline.
- Work closely with the project team to develop and implement mitigation strategies for any identified risks.
- Adjust the schedule as needed in response to unforeseen events, ensuring minimal disruption to the turnaround plan.
- Facilitate regular schedule review meetings with project stakeholders, including planners, engineers, contractors, and management.
- Communicate schedule updates, progress, and any critical issues that may require management intervention.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and services required for the turnaround.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all turnaround scheduling activities, including change logs, reports, and updated schedules.
- Generate reports and presentations on schedule performance, milestones, critical paths, and resource requirements for senior management.
- Support close-out activities by creating final reports and analyzing lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in scheduling within the engineering or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of MRP, SAP, and inventory management systems.
- Excellent demand planning skills with the ability to forecast project needs.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with various teams.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets for informed decision-making.
