Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems including security alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control systems.
- Utilize remote access software to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with installed systems.
- Read and interpret schematics to ensure proper installation and functionality of systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of low voltage equipment to detect potential issues.
- Collaborate with clients to design system layouts that meet their specific needs while adhering to NEC standards.
- Provide technical support as a service technician for existing installations, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in low voltage technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, including installation techniques and troubleshooting methods.
- Proficiency in using remote access software for system diagnostics.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components relevant to low voltage applications.
- Experience with surveillance system installation and maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations related to low voltage installations.
- Basic locksmithing skills are a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
