JOB DESCRIPTION: The Paralegal provides direct support to the General Counsel, assisting in contract review, legal research, and compliance-related documentation. This role plays a key part in maintaining legal and regulatory accuracy across the organization and supporting internal departments with timely legal assistance. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of healthcare-related legal practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced administrative setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contract Review & Management
- Assist in the review, drafting, editing, and redlining of contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs, business associate agreements (BAAs), and service contracts.
- Maintain and organize a centralized contract database and track key terms, renewal dates, and obligations.
- Support the General Counsel in negotiations by preparing summaries, issue-spotting, and ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Support compliance officer and review of processes and procedures.
Legal & Regulatory Support
- Conduct legal research related to healthcare compliance, corporate governance, HIPAA, fraud and abuse laws, and other applicable regulations.
- Prepare memoranda, compliance documentation, and supporting materials for internal teams.
- Help coordinate responses to audits, investigations, or regulatory inquiries.
Administrative & Departmental Support
- Draft and format legal correspondence, internal policies, meeting summaries, and reports.
- Summarize legal research and complex language into accurate, concise formats tailored for internal review and decision-making.
- Track ongoing legal matters and assist in organizing files, calendars, and deadlines for the General Counsel.
- Assist with training materials or presentations related to legal and compliance topics.
- Liaise with internal departments to collect or clarify documentation needed for legal review.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certification required.
- 3 years of experience in a paralegal role, preferably in a healthcare, corporate, or administrative legal setting.
- Familiarity with Lexis and/or WestLaw, contract law, healthcare compliance, and regulatory terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management tools or databases.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
