Responsibilities
SUMMARY
Assists the organization in achieving its stated objectives by providing an independent assessment of the control environment within which business is conducted. The scope of the audit work is broad and may involve operational, financial, regulatory and/or technology components. Assists with developing and implementing the Credit Union's auditing procedures. Assists with monitoring the Credit Union for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other controls while working with the Compliance Department, management and outside auditors and examiners to report and follow up on the correction of control weaknesses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Implement audits, ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and accounting principles.
Perform and travel for Credit Union audits, including new accounts and loans, and manage member confirmation letters.
Conduct routine audits, resolve problems, and generate audit reports.
Develop and implement auditing procedures, plans, timeline, and budget.
Assist in fraud prevention and investigations.
Coordinate department training and host training sessions.
Provide independent audit opinions and present findings to stakeholders.
Work independently, follow audit plans, and meet budget and time requirements.
Stay aware of emerging issues and regulatory changes.
Support external auditors and NCUA examiners.
Achieve individual and team goals.
Maintain knowledge of auditing principles and relevant regulations.
Foster a positive atmosphere for members and employees.
Ensure positive relationships with branches, departments, and partners.
Maintain knowledge of required computer equipment and software.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; minimum of two (three preferred) years related experience in auditing and/or the financial industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND
Working knowledge of computer equipment and software, with attention to detail required including Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Power Point. An understanding of state and federal laws to include Texas Finance Code, BSA, OFAC, Reg. E, Reg. CC, Reg. Z, TILA, FCRA.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CPA, CIA or CCUIA designation preferred.

The base range for this position is $62,000/yr. - $75,000/yr. based on experience, plus Incentives
