Job Summary
The Youth Behavioral Specialist will work 1:1 with clients in the Youth Rehabilitative Program, a 3–6-month Multisystemic Therapy (MST) model for youth aged 12-17.
The primary goal of this program is to keep youth in their local community, home, and school, as well as reduce substance abuse and criminal activity. This goal is achieved through interventions targeted at the individual and family levels, as well as the group settings of school, community, and even peer groups.
During this program, the Youth Behavioral Specialist will work directly with the Clinical Social Worker and Behavior Analyst. The Behavior Therapist will provide skills training for activities of daily living skills, emotion and coping strategies, social engagement and communication, and more.

1. Services work best for families when everyone works together and has the same goals for treatment.
2. Caregivers are an important part of this teamwork, including making decisions.
3. The family is the focus of the treatment, not just the youth.

5. The youth is best supported within their own home with their family along with their natural support structures.

Four phases
Phase 1: Assessment and Intake
Phase 2: Intensive Day Treatment Therapy for 6-8 weeks for 20 hours per week.
Phase 3: Generalization, fade into the home and school settings 10 hours per week.
Phase 4: Maintenance, phasing the therapists out, therapy 1-2 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Implement the Youth's Treatment & Behavior Plan
- Build and maintain a relationship with the Youth through pairing, including playing board games or basketball
- Collect data on the Youth's goals and behaviors through trained data collection applications (Catalyst on an iPad)
- Document daily care, including progress, updates, and preferences
- Communicate with the Clinical Social Worker on the Youth's progress or concerns
- Collaborate with other treatment team members, including coordination of care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work & therapy environment
- Maintain confidentiality and dignity
- Attend team meetings & ongoing training

Requirements & Preferred Experience
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a criminal and DHS provider background check
- Reliable transportation
- Preferred bachelor's degree in a related field AND/OR 2 years of experience working with individuals with behavioral disorders
Schedule
This job is anticipated to be Monday through Friday, approximately 8am to 4pm. There may be some flex time for community work; however this will be preplanned.
