What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Operator position at AdvanSix?
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manual palletizing of up to 51 lb. bags
Feed bags to bagger
Feed bags to heat sealer
Bulk tote loading
Forklift and skid steer operation
Stretch wrapping and stacking pallets
Customer truck loading
Ammonium sulfate and general cleaning and housekeeping
Minor maintenance
Train other operators as required
Safely operate job related equipment
Participate in plant safety programs and maintains a knowledge and understanding o OSHA requirements
Responsible for the safety and proper management of handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements
Adhere to all company policies
Completing all CBT’s and classroom instruction as required
Lean new technologies as required
Participate in all aspects of AdvanSix Operating System
Must be flexible to changing priorities and willing to handle emergencies
Subject to shifts, OT, and off hours support
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Proficiency with a computer, including programs such as word or excel
Must be able to complete a background check and drug test successfully
Must have strong communication skills
Must be willing and able to work in a team environment
Ability to lift and move objects that weigh up to 51 lbs., and exert up to 75 pounds pull
Ability to perform basic math computations
Have a strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes
Required to work on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces and in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.)
Additional Qualifications:
Packaging/warehouse background/experience is preferred (at least 1 year)
Fork truck experience preferred
Skid steer experience preferred
Able to manage multiple priorities
