What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rail Logistics Leader position at AdvanSix?
Position Summary: The Transportation & Warehousing Leader works to achieve operational targets and standards by managing and direction warehouse operations at one site and trucking operations at two sites
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Manage first line day to day warehousing and shipping operations including management of manpower, safety, costs, performance and customer satisfaction
· Develop and implement transportation & warehouse metrics, goals and objectives aligned to AdvanSix priorities and Customer Excellence objectives. Drive improvements.
· Lead Trucking Processes and Execution across the Richmond network including Manage Hopewell Residue Trucking Process & Washwater tanker management
· Collaborate with Production, Planning and Logistics teams to ensure alignment and optimization. Recognize and quickly resolve issues that impact production or customer shipments, understand when outside assistance is required and communicate as necessary
· Perform incident investigations (Root Cause & Corrective Actions). Issue Life Critical Permits
· Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, performing safety gembas, attending safety meetings, ensuring self and team are current on all safety training,
· Provide back-up for the Logistics Leader and the Warehouse Clerk positions.
· Develop productivity ideas, validate, implement, and deliver against sustainable projects to drive cost savings and/or productivity.
· Constantly search for improvement and continually seek to eliminate waste
· Evaluate, address, and support employee suggestions and ideas for continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or High School/GED with 5 years of experience in Logistics or Manufacturing
· 3 years of Warehouse Leadership Experience or related organizational experience
· Experience with SAP WM or comparable Warehouse Management System
