Description

Position Summary:

The Clinical Director oversees the clinical operations of the Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) and works closely with the Crisis Care Division Director to ensure effective delivery of services. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, the continuous improvement of operational workflows, and the overall performance of the BHCC programs. The Director collaborates with the agency's clinical, compliance, and care management departments to ensure a seamless transition of care and high-quality client outcomes. This role involves direct oversight of the BHCC leadership team and ensures that services are recovery-oriented, client-centered, and operationally efficient.

 

Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards:

Provide clinical and operational oversight to the BHCC leadership team and clinical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility’s services, including:

      •  30-bed Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
      •  8-bed Temporary Observation Unit
      •  24/7 Crisis Walk-In Center

• Partner with BHCC leadership to address challenges, implement real-time solutions, and provide guidance and technical assistance to program staff.
• Work closely with the Crisis Care Division Director and other agency leaders to optimize client transition processes from BHCC services to outpatient services.
• Develop and maintains a 24/7 on-call system to ensure adequate clinical and medical staffing for after-hours concerns.
• Ensure that all BHCC services are aligned with recovery-oriented, client-centered practices, and works with clinical staffing to improve overall care for clients.

  • Works collaboratively with other Advantage leadership to assist clients with transitions to and from the BHCC.
  • Provide Clinical Supervision (as needed) to clinical staff at the BHCC.
  • Ensure daily clinical programming and implementation of changes, as needed.
  • Participate in Treatment team and help (lead treatment team) as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Care Coordinator to create/implement an auditing tool to measure quality of clinical documentation completed by clinicians.
  • Work collaboratively and provide oversight with the Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Care Coordinator to ensure flow of clients throughout the BHCC.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop long- and short-term goals for BHCC, ensuring the alignment of services with strategic and operational objectives.
  • Monitor compliance with DBHDD, SAMHSA, and other relevant contract deliverables and KPIs.
  • Oversee BHCC program audits, working with Program Supervisors and the Service Line Director to develop and implement corrective action plans (CAPs).
  •  Delegate tasks and responsibilities for the implementation of procedural and operational changes based on audit results.
  • Ensure that all BHCC care activities meet regulatory standards and are accessible and appropriate for clients.
  • Collaborate with agency Directors to standardize referral processes across outpatient sites.
  • Stay updated on regulatory guidelines and requirements including SAMHSA CCBHC, DBHDD Utilization Guidelines, CARF, ASO, DATEP/HFR, and Advantage policies.
  • Collect and analyze data on service access, care outcomes, and client experience as directed by the Service Line Director.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and performance evaluation for BHCC staff in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Set clear job expectations and performance goals for staff.
  • Document and conduct regular meetings with direct reports to support professional development.
  • Ensure staff receive appropriate training and development, and provide support for disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate timekeeping and reporting.
  • Work with the Service Line Director to monitor the financial performance of BHCC programs, ensuring adherence to budget expectations.
  • Develop and sustain positive relationships with referral sources and community partners.
  • Strategize to enhance existing revenue streams, ensuring cost attribution is aligned with program expenditure.
  • Design and implement billing strategies for Temporary Observation Unit and 24/7 Crisis Walk-In services to ensure financial sustainability.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in a related field (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work) from an accredited college or university AND four years of relevant management/supervisory experience in healthcare services, OR
  • Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND five years of relevant management/supervisory experience in healthcare services.
  • Full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Fully licensed as LPC, LMFT, LCSW or, Psychologist.

Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
